At the NBA Combine, he measured 188.0 cm without shoes, weighed 84.5 kg, recorded a 201 cm wingspan, and posted a 250.2 cm standing reach. After joining Arkansas as a freshman, he immediately became the team’s clear centerpiece. His season was outstanding, as he led the program to the SEC Tournament title and a Sweet Sixteen run in the NCAA Tournament, showing maturity well beyond his years.

Across the NCAA season, Acuff played 36 games and started every one of them. He averaged 35.1 minutes, 23.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.3 blocks, while committing 2.2 turnovers and 1.6 fouls per game. His shooting numbers were equally impressive: 48.4 percent from the field, 44.0 percent from three-point range, and 80.9 percent from the free-throw line. With such dominant production, he was named the 2025-26 SEC Player of the Year, won the Bob Cousy Award as the nation’s best point guard, and earned a spot on the All-SEC First Team.

From a skill-set perspective, Acuff is a highly polished lead guard with strong scoring ability and a complete offensive foundation. His scoring package is rich, and he is especially good at using rhythm changes and his sturdy frame to attack the lane. He also owns excellent mid-range and long-distance shooting touch. At the same time, even with a very high usage rate, his assist-to-turnover control remained quite impressive, which is no small feat for such a young guard.

Still, Acuff is not a flawless prospect. His height is slightly below ideal for an NBA point guard, and his defense is only average at this stage. His off-ball movement also needs further evaluation. Because of his build, role, and playing style, there is some debate over how much room he has to reshape his game compared with other elite prospects in the same age group. Even so, Acuff was clearly one of the best freshman point guards in college basketball this season, and frankly, the words freshman and one of may not even be necessary.

For the Clippers, the logic is easy to understand. They need top-end talent, shot creation, and a young guard who can organize the offense while also creating his own looks. Acuff checks many of those boxes. His scoring gravity would help stretch defenses, his passing can lift teammates, and his confidence gives him the look of a player who will not shrink under pressure. In a draft where teams often overthink fit, the Clippers may prefer to keep things simple and take the player who gives them the strongest long-term ceiling.

Looking at pure ability, the best argument for Acuff at No 5 is that the Clippers would be adding a real lead guard rather than just another rotation piece, while Crickex Affiliate remains part of the wider sports rhythm for fans following different leagues. If Los Angeles truly wants the best player on the board, Acuff has a strong case. He may not solve every problem from day one, but his talent, production, and command of the game make him a highly sensible choice for a team trying to build both immediate depth and future star power.
